Photo trip to Rainbow Falls
I had heard the road to Devils Postpile(203) could be open this weekend(6/6).
If the road is open should I expect the trail to Rainbow Falls to be still covered
with snow/ice? At that elevation has the snow/ice started melting out?

highly unlikely that the trail will have any snow left on it. It's pretty far down on the valley, southern exposure, no trees.

Re: Photo trip to Rainbow Falls
Gracias, but you really can't take a bad photo of the waterfall. Just let the lighting and the scenery do all the work for you. I didn't even intend to "silk" the waterfall in that shot, but the light was so low and I was shooting Fuji Velvia 50 film that I didn't really have any choice.
There is another waterfall a short hike downriver which isn't as dramatic but it's very pretty too. I haven't been in the area since my doggies passed. My oldest little boy (3 yrs) is getting old enough that I'll be able to take him out this summer and this would be a good, easy hike for him.
