A shot I took at 11,700 looking over Humphreys Basin. Aspen fire smoke in the background mixing with thunderheads.

Whitney west side above Guitar Lake - 4:34m on 8/17/13 - I was already an hour behind the guys who got an 'alpine start' leaving those headlight trails on the switchbacks. 30 second exposure in what was more or less total darkness.

this summer a Nikon D600, 24-85mm VR and old 20mm f/3.5 nikkor AIS manual focus lens
D600 = dynamic range Canon shooters can only dream of
