A hike up to Round Top provided a fantastic day with perfect weather, great views, wonderful company. Even though it was a Monday, we saw lots of happy cross country skiers and snowshoers, at least four other parties. And an amazing mountaineering dog running around the summit base. Everyone was in great spirits. The snow was consolidated just right for us peakbaggers, though the skiers didn't love the sturdiness of it. Glissade down was SO nice.

Thanks for the TR and photo's. The glissading conditions looks perfect. Any photo's of the mountaineering dog?

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

The dog was so happy. The owners said he had dashed straight out across Winnemucca Lake and back. Very fine coat as well!

Re: TR: Round Top 4/18
Brings back some good memories! I think that slope with the dogs, skiers, and glissading was slightly firmer and slicker when my dogs and I were there. It made for a bit of low speed, unintentional sliding for one of my dogs on the way up, but she made it! The glissade down was fun that day.
