Care to take guess?
While at Yosemite in the early 70's I was listening to a ranger at Glacier Point giving a talk to a crowd of people. During his presentation he talked about a person who was evacuated out of the back country by helicopter because of 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his body while
hiking in the snow.
Care to guess what part of his body got burned?

Re: Care to take guess?

On a mid Spring trip to Lassen, with a group I belong too, it was so nice, all I wore during the day was my shorts. By Tuesday after work, I had a blister on my one shin the size of an egg yolk.
Piece of cake.

Ok, i'll guess cheeks. assuming he had on sunglasses, your face is pretty prone to reflective burning.

Re: Care to take guess?
Because the dude needed to be evacuated I'd guess the bottoms of the feet - lounging back barefoot...I know I've had some sunburns in strange areas from the snow

Re: Care to take guess?
you're probably right, but who takes their boots off in the snow? I did whitesides meadow once in the Emigrant wilderness. painful on the eyes as there was a good foot of snow for 2 miles.
Hope the guy was billed for the evac.

Well, the answer to that was "nope", so that eliminates my first guess.hikerduane wrote:Where the light doesn't shine normally?:)

Well, heck.... I'll guess his hands (but you said to be creative, so I doubt if that's right).
