SEKI Snow Survey 4/1

Post by maverick »

SEKI NP:

Early this month, the snow survey team completed the 2024 April 1 round of snow surveys. The Kaweah River drainage was measured at 94% of average snowpack. For comparison, last year’s 2023 April 1 survey saw a whopping 271% of average for the Kaweah River drainage. Information from these surveys and more are available online at the California Data Exchange Center- Snow. The April 1 survey is important for helping the state estimate how much water is in the snowpack as snow usually reaches its maximum depth by then.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Have a safer backcountry experience by using the HST ReConn Form 2.0, named after Larry Conn, a HST member: http://reconn.org
