Insights or ideas?

Post by AdrianJensen »

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to ascend the 12,343-foot Sawtooth Peak located near Mineral King in Sequoia National Park. Upon reaching the summit, I noticed a rather peculiar benchmark with inscriptions reading "Grand Canyon South Rim" and "elevation 7120." I'm quite intrigued by this and was wondering if there's a backstory behind it. Is it a tribute of sorts? Could it be a playful endeavor by park personnel? If anyone has insights or ideas, I'd love to hear them.
