Has anyone been up here yet this year? I'm planning to do a clockwise Cold Canyon -> Upper McCabe -> Young Lakes loop this weekend. This would be my first off-trail pass!
I have been watching the snow data and it seems to be receding pretty quickly, but obviously it's still early. It looks like the slope is pretty tame until just before the top of the saddle, based on slope angle.
Thanks!

Circling back, it's covered in snow. I made it to 11,000' but after a series of poorly-chosen lines I got stuck doing several legitimate 4th class downclimbs, fell about 5' on a boulder and post-holed to my hips once I got back on snow.
It's doable with experience. I'll post a TR later today after I finish it.
