Ansel Adams Photos

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Ansel Adams Photos

Wonderful set of photos here from Ansel Adams, curtesy of the Guardian. John Muir maybe coined the phrase "the range of light" for the Sierra Nevada, but nobody captured its essence better than Adams. https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesig ... SApp_Other

Or just read a good mystery novel set in the Sierra; https://www.amazon.com/Danger-Falling-R ... 0984884963

Adams photography was stunning, especially the dramatic lighting he would capture. But the expected prices for these prints at auction are even more stunning! Moonrise over Hernandez, N.M. is expected to sell for more than $500,000!

Old timers: is my memory correct that something very like "Clearing Winter Storm" wallpapered much of the old ranger station in the Valley? All I really remember is that it's where one used to go to get wilderness permits. But I remember that huge mural!
