At least for the northern Sierra, the storm starting Saturday night looks more like a big one and extending into all of next week. They are talking about 2-4 feet of snow around Donner Pass area. Skiers should be delighted, but get up there before roads close! The NWS web site has some good discussions of this storm.

Stronger Storm Potential Next Week:

All eyes are on next week as clustered ensemble analysis show agreement in developing a longwave trough off the west coast with impacts as early as Sunday. This presents a pattern which could yield multiple waves of subtropical moisture pushing inland over a 2-3 day period early next week. As a result, there are viable scenarios for significant amounts of snowfall across the Sierra in addition to prolonged travel disruptions.

Confidence is increasing in the formation of this eastern Pacific trough which will yield a wetter, cooler, and possibly a windier pattern. The main uncertainties are of the typical variety, that being the timing and depth of the trough. The evolution of this system could feature multiple waves of
subtropical or AR moisture which would yield a longer duration precipitation event. That coupled with lower initial snow levels could yield promise for the Sierra picking up accumulations measured in feet vs inches. Snowfall pick ups will also be possible into western Nevada but much lower confidence at this time. Be sure to keep a close eye on the forecast if you have any travel plans by the end of the weekend into the middle of next week.

Total snow accumulations will be tremendous. Easily the biggest
snowstorm so far this season. Recall the atmospheric river event
from late October featured a warmer air mass with much higher snow
levels, so snow amounts were restricted to the High Sierra.
Expect widespread snow totals in the 2 to 5 foot range in the
Sierra Nevada above about 3500 or 4000 ft elevation. Even higher
amounts exceeding two yardsticks seems increasingly more likely as
you climb in elevation along the western slope. 100-inch storm
total is not out of the question for isolated locations; we are
forecasting it in our official forecast for a few locations.

well, lets see. Here in the valley, we had one fence fall. Stupid fence really. Back up as is horse fencing and now accordion so it won't fall over. Eucalyptus tree limbs down .Car cover flew off. Wind here is the biggy. Three power failures so far, but manageable. Glad I mowed the front 1/3rd yesterday.
