Build Back Better bill and forest funding

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Good question. IIRC the MEL funding (Most Efficient Level) is reevaluated every 5 years.

I am out of the game now and am not privy to the current planning. The recent fire seasons should definitely change the cost versus benefit analysis.
At least the states and federal legislatures are starting to pay attention to the issue now. Wildfires used to be a low priority. Not only California, but other states are now letting loose the purse strings.
