California Coming Attraction - weather article

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

California Coming Attraction - weather article

Washington State/B.C. flooding:

That's a fraction of the population here in California. So a flood this winter with all the fires we had in the Sierra Nevada would be a disaster. Hopefully, The Big One won't happen at the same time. That would be apocalyptic.

Already seeing it. Highway 70/Feather River Canyon already closed by slide from the Dixie Fire. No one expects 70 to stay open very long after this one is cleared.
Fortunately, in my area the Dixie Fire was on mostly flat to gentle terrain. The south half has all the steep.
