Thanks for the inspiring report and wonderful photos. Day 6 is, as you say, “an easy day in Paradise,” though it doesn’t seem so easy to me. The waterfall is one of those remote places that seems like something in a dream. As Wildhiker said, it was great to see all the greenery and flowers. Also, like Phil, when I did Twin Island to Bench Canyon in 2005, I also didn’t have much difficulty following Roper’s route, which is uncharacteristic of me. As Phil said, a slight difference in micro route-finding can make a huge difference. The Lyell Fork and Hutchings Creek is one of those places I’ve long wanted to visit, but never made it. Now, I doubt I ever will so I really appreciate the chance to do it vicariously through your report and photos.
