Ambulance helicopters over Italy Pass 7/10

I was descending Italy Pass last Saturday (July 10) afternoon and we saw two ambulance helicopters fly through the pass going west. They looked like Cal Fire. They did not come back through the pass the other way. Anybody know what happened? Purely out of curiosity because I've never seen helicopters up there before.

If Cal Fire, then my guess is that they were heading to the River Fire.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
