Ten Lakes for Labor Day?

Post by robow8 »

Thinking about going to Ten Lakes for Labor Day weekend; Saturday to Monday. Is this a good idea or no? Never been there before, so would like to know about water availability, nicer camping spots, that kind of thing.

Thanks

Ten Lakes should be nice on Labor Day - plenty of big lakes to hold water even if streams dry up. Your problem will be that this is a very popular area, so it is unlikely you can get a walk-up wilderness permit on the same day for a holiday weekend. See if you can get a reservation, or plan to be up at one of the wilderness permit stations on Friday morning to get one of the next-day walkup permits that are released at 11 am.
