Looking for a 4th of July backpack

Post by Love the Sierra »

Hi,
I am dying to get out into the Sierra. Any thoughts for trips? I have read the trail reports and flooded meadows and high stream crossings in fast running water are not for us.
I was thinking that maybe the Southwest end of Golden Trout might be easily hikable, like around Trout Meadow and Grey Meadow. Anyone been out there?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!!

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.
