Well it ended up being a mixed bag of results. The good parts were an ice-free road to the trailhead and an easy hike through light snow cover with a bonus of a terrific view of the Tahoe basin. The bad parts were a Floating Island completely covered in a half-inch of ice and Cathedral mostly covered in a quarter-inch layer, with no fish sighted in either lake. We were probably just a week too late. Anyway, it was a great hike even if the fishing was nonexistent and I got to take some nice shots of the landscape. Now if only I can figure out how to stitch together photos to make a panoramic..
Thanks for all your help!
