I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Thanks, will do. Working on reporting trail/mosquito conditions, although they're a week old now.maverick wrote:Hi HikingGeek,

Day 1
Shuttling to and inside the park, as well as the heat, slowed us down a bit, but we had a good day. We had originally planned to hike fewer miles on Day 1, but most of campsite before Bearpaw were taken. Clicking on an image below will bring you to a webpage with a detailed trip report and more photos.
Day 1 highlights of our High Sierra Trail trek to Mt. Whitney:
High Sierra Trail, Day 1 – Crescent Meadow to Bearpaw Meadow Camp, June 17 2015
After hours of planning, we're excited to finally hit the trail.
Gil hiking towards the Great Western Divide
Little Blue Dome(L) & Sugarbowl Dome (R)
Abundant wildflowers along the trail
Many of the trees were covered in moss after we crossed Buck Creek
