Wall Map for the Sierra Nevada?
Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a good wall map of the Sierra Nevada that has all the SPS peaks marked on it? If such a thing does exist where might one find it? I'm hoping online as that's pretty much where you can find anything these days.
This summer I'll be trying to tackle a solid 20-30 peaks on that list so it would be nice to mark them off on a map. Not to mention maps are just cool!
Thanks!

This might work Mike: http://blog.closedcontour.com/sps-map/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Re: Wall Map for the Sierra Nevada?
That isn't quite what I'm looking for. Also, I'm not sure how I would buy it and mount it? There's another map I've seen but I don't think it has all of the peaks marked on it.

Hi Mike,
I'm interested in the same... could you let me know what your prospective alternative is?
Thanks
Justin

Hi Justin. I actually have this one and I framed it.

I was hoping to find another just so I didn't have the same one, but if it has all the peaks listed then I'll buy another. It's unlikely that it does though since there are some very obscure and remote peaks. But it's worth a shot.

I have the same one! I bought the map at REI for $10 and had Aaron Brothers mat & frame it during a 50% off sale.alpinemike wrote:Hi Justin. I actually have this one and I framed it.

I'm still rather convinced that you can achieve more than you've ever dreamed of if you just lower your standards.

Re: Wall Map for the Sierra Nevada?
Hi Mike,
You can use the site I previously posted the link to, and mark the peaks yourself.
I have done all the cross country passes (color coded according to class) on all my
Tom Harrison Maps, and yeah its time consuming, but fun to do (for me).
Only two other sites that I am aware of that may be helpful, but do not have hard
copies are:
http://www.thistrail.com/in/?p=94" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.mappingsupport.com/p/gmap4.p ... ks.txt.txt" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not exactly what you're looking for, but cool nonetheless: http://johnmuirtrailposter.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Wall Map for the Sierra Nevada?
FeetFirst: I have both of those maps. They're gorgeous. I recommend them to anyone that has some free wall space. It would be nice if someone made a map like the JMT one with all the SPS peaks labelled on it. That's what I'm looking for...
Maverick: I really like the one that has them all plotted on the map. Excellent resource. But unfortunately there's no way for me to print that in any proper dimensions. Well, if there is I wouldn't know how to do it.
