McCoy Peak dayclimb in the McCoy Mountains
PHOTOS: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/gallery/2130532
Arrived at Corn Springs 3am. Checked out petroglyphs, then met Astrohound and Yukon Jack at Wiley's Well Rest Stop at 9am. I drove us to the base of McCoy Peak, (fun drive) and got to use the rear lockers to get out of a wash, and added pin stripes to my 3 day old FJ Cruiser. We found "the Real McCoy" terracache, then headed back. Drove to Granite Mtns, dropped a few vehicles off at camp, interesting driving to Palen Pass and found "Above Palen Pass" terracache. We drove back and set up camp for the night.

Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free . . . . Jim Morrison

Cool album setup!!!
That area has a lot more features than I imagined it would have. Some far-reaching views too. On clear day, I'll bet the view is quite expansive.
That rock you're holding; can't tell if it's sandstone or not, but that rock looks like a river or flash flood-deposited rock that is encased in sandstone-like rock.
You don't really like your FJ, do you???

Granite Mountain #2 in the Granite Mountains
PHOTOS: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/gallery/2131055
We parked 0.3 mi from Packard Well. Once we got to the right wash, we gained elevation quickly. The color changes on the way up were pretty cool! Astrohound placed a terracache near the summit, then we headed back. Near camp, we hiked up a little knob and I logged in a 4th terracache for the weekend. Cool hikes!
Thanks, Trekker! and I don't like it, I love it!! Wait til you ride in it!
We saw an all black one at the dealer the other night. Pretty nice!

No Ridgeline. . . . ALL black! I saw somewhere that they had white with white top, but the price went up for that. I think you have to special order. They must have a black/black option now, because this one was ALL black! The sales guys were walking over to look at it too. They had never seen all black.
