TR: Chain Lakes - August 2010
Better late than never right! This is more of a collection of photos than a trip report. There wasn't much to say about a short trip like this, 3 years later.

Hope you enjoy the scenery,
Brian
PS - Special thanks to HST for providing some good intel on this trip.

Pretty pictures from one of my favorite places in the southwestern part of Yosemite.
There is another small lake in the vicinity that is very pretty and has great
view, but .

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Ha Maverick.
I look forward to getting back there and exploring the area much more. I'm still pretty inexperienced out there, but back then I was even more of a noob!
Now with Callie as my main trail partner it'll probably be years before I get back.

Wow! Thanks for the report. Beautiful area. Might tempt me to go north of my usual range.

My old stomping grounds, it is a a really great scenic area. Just pop over Fernandez Pass (Bill) and you have a bounty of lakes, peaks, and basins to explore. Superb photos as usual Schmalz! Some of the best i have ever seen of that area.

Dan - I'm starting to understand why these are your stomping grounds. The approach to the trailhead looks difficult and time consuming but the country and all the off trail opportunities look very tempting.Electra wrote:it is a a really great scenic area...Superb photos as usual Schmalz! I second you on Schmalz's great photos.

The Chain lakes and the surrounding lakes are a nice place to visit. Just wish they'd drag the road to the TH once in awhile to fill in the potholes.
A nice overview of the area, Brian!
