Cottonwood Canyon to Canyon Point, DVNP

Canyon Point was the 97th peak to be added to the DPS list. Not an impressive peak, especially with 90-105 degree temps! Lots of flowers and lizards made it interesting.

Well, it may not have been a great peak hike, but it sure looks like you got there at just the right time for a lot of the blooms, especially with the temps starting to heat up! Great flower pics! Good date for a hike, too! Watch out for lonely lizards on that one!
Maybe the trekking poles would work better in brush w/o the baskets?

That lizard was cool! By the time I realized I could do a video on him, he quit performing.
Its the double talons that kept getting stuck. I just received the newer round model for the other side so I'll see how it goes this weekend. The talons are made for steep slopes, so I have to find somewhere to do a real test.

SN..Looks like you really had a nice two days of hiking in two different & very beautiful areas of DV. The flower pictures are beautiful and the lizards must have been so fun to watch ....I probably would have passed out with that 105 temp. The water must have felt so refreshing and cool on your feet...good thing there was water for you.
