excellent! image 1257... it looked like the clouds were moving as i viewed the photo. weird. and the pot with the fish..... now, i'm usually catch and release unless i'm in the backcountry but that shot just made me chuckle. what was the recipe? (still chuckling...) i'd love to do a trip like that. great memories for your son for decades to come i hope. good going dad.

p.s. i normally don't fish that much. since my son likes to fish, i took the fishing gear. on my next trip into tehipite valley/ionian basin (which begins tomorrow), i will leave the stuff behind even tho there are a few excellent fishing spots along the way.

Re: upper kern basin
Thanks for sharing the videos lostcoyote.
I saw the video when you were in Big Arroyo last October. Was it difficult to find the trail back to Kaweah Gap with all the snow? Also, the video Kaweah Gap 360, was that from the same trip, or did you come back later? It's amazing how different it looks without the snow!
Have a great trip to Ionian Basin and Tehipite Valley.

I did a search and found your thread on the storm and your trip last October. I'm going to post a link to it on the thread for October backpacking. Wow, what an adventure!

Re: upper kern basin
yeah, i certainly don't want to have to go through another storm like that.
and i have ditched my stephenson's warmlite tent for it's failure.
i am back to my old north face which weighs a few pounds more - but it's proven.
