Colville Ridge from Mahogany Flats

This was my first trip since I flew back from Australia 4 days ago. Still a bit jet lagged, I somehow missed my turnoff to get to the trailhead. So I camped at the U2 Joshua Tree for the night. In the morning I took my time driving due to a misunderstanding in meeting time, etc, and got there a little later than I should have. TomG and Sierra Sparkles were on their way down to look for me. Oops! Sorry guys! Sparkles was also jetlagged from her trip to India and returned a day before me. We hiked to Colville Ridge, and SS and I got to see our first Wickiup! There were petroglyphs and Indian Rock Circles and we followed an old indian trail, some of it with big trees growing on it. On the way back, we ran into Rachel. TomG went home, and the girls camped out and yakked til about 10pm. A beautiful day and night to be in the mountains!

Charcoal Kilns to Wildrose Peak

Three of us hiked Wildrose Peak from Charcoal Kilns. It was cold and windy up higher with snow flurries. Even then it was a beautiful day to be on the mountain!
Cloudy day . . . Colville Ridge from Wildrose Trail
Rogers Pk and low clouds
Seems like every time I do this peak the views are like this. But it was a good day out with friends!

Re: Colville Ridge and Wildrose Peak
I love snow hiking in the desert.
We saw the clouds settle in from Corkscrew and I wondered how cold it was on Sunday.
Great photos as always.
Enjoyed the wikiup shots. Any sign of the red fox this trip?

Re: Colville Ridge and Wildrose Peak
It was a nice day to be out! The flurries were cool. I looked for that little red fox, but the only thing red was Sparkles hair. We were looking out at Corkscrew too.
