I'm trying to plan a 2 night trip for this weekend. I'm thinking from Lodgepole visitor center, to head north over silliman pass and then loop back over JO pass for a trip of about 30 miles. The "twin lakes" trail seems like its pretty popular- do you guys think it'll packed for Memorial Day? Also, the high point of the trip is Silliman Pass at 10,479 ft... crampons needed?
Thanks a lot! I'd also love to hear where people are headed this weekend.

Might give you some insight into how far you might want to walk in to/from trailhead. Road may not be open. Call ahead.
Although the pass is not steep and where you go is fairly obvious, crampons always keep me upright until mid June or so. You might have some adventure following a trail that may well be missing under snow. Don't think you will need snowshoes. It is really late season there now.

Thanks! In light of the recent weather, I'm heading to the Sespe Wilderness, somewhere I've been meaning to check out for years!
