Europe

Post by balzaccom »

I've been participating here from a distance, since I spent five weeks cruising the rivers of Europe--it was work, I swear!

Rhine, Rhone, Seine, Saone, Bordeaux...lots of water, lots of wine, and a ton of photos.

If you're interested in a non-backpacking adventure (longest day's hike was about 4-5 miles, then check out my blog about it:

Thanks for the diversion Paul. We love all the images of fine architecture, artworks, and scenery, but my wife was disturbed by the promiscuous little pigs. I'm Greek, so I have to be okay with it, but I do wonder who it is that you featured naked in a cart, being carried around by devilish centaurs?
Congratulations on your travels, Ian and Lizzie.

Dionysus aka Bacchus, is popularly characterized as the god of wine making and festive intoxication, and other Roman debauchery, but his roots can be traced back to ancient Greece, where he is credited with having a broader scope of influences on western culture.

Not to be confused with the municipal workers in Arles, who were driving to the next job in a horse drawn cart. But they were wearing orange safety vests--sonmething Bacchus would never do.
