Yosemite "Planning for the Future"

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Yosemite "Planning for the Future"

Post by LMBSGV »

According to the Yosemite website, this is everyone's opportunity to add their opinion as to the park's future.
Planning for the Future

Yosemite has been grappling with congestion—even gridlock—for decades. We want to build from the lessons learned from the last three summer of managed access. We are seeking your help to design an approach that provides a great visitor experience while protecting Yosemite's natural and cultural resources.
Since the link in that quote to the comment page does not seem to work, here it is:

https://parkplanning.nps.gov/document.c ... tID=125234

We all have until February 3 to offer our opinions. These are the "Topic Questions."
Topic Questions:
1. What experiences in Yosemite are most important to you?
2. What have been the best parts of your experiences in Yosemite? What have been the worst parts?
3. What management practices or strategies has the park used to effectively address crowding and congestion?
4. Other thoughts you'd like to share with the project team?
5. What barriers get in the way of enjoying or visiting Yosemite?
I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.

thanks for the heads up! I added my 2 cents.

I suggested deleting all public roads from the park making it walk-in only
