Are there any REALLY TRULY waterproof Gortex shoes?

..Never could see the benefit of a Gortex Jacket when backpacking as then my hands would get wet and cold but with the poncho I can keep my hands under cover.

I always buy my hard shell parkas oversize for two reasons:

1. Accommodates insulation layers without compressing them.
2. You can draw your hands up into the sleeves to get them out of the rain.

When I am not hiding my hands in the sleeves, I fold the wrist cuff back one roll, so it is out of the way.

I have hiked with poles for the last 16 years and can't figure out how to keep my hands under sleeves and hold poles.
