Info needed - Kennedy Lake - Cows

Post by mschnaidt »

I'm considering a trip to Kennedy Lake on the 11th. However, if cows are grazing up there I'll pick another destination. I've tried calling the Summit Ranger station and have not gotten through. I've left a message but haven't gotten a call back.

Does anyone know if the cows have been brought in yet? Or if/when they will be?

Thanks!

Michael

Grazing information may be easier to get from the regional office, down at Strawberry/Pinecrest. They generally move cows up when they have grazed the fields lower down. The permit would only indicate the earliest they are allowed in- sometimes they wait a bit. Also call the Kennedy Meadows Resort. They probably keep track of that.

Thank you WD! I called KMR and they let me know that the cows were taken into the upper meadow and would be up at the lake shortly.
