Seeking info ICO Cherry Creek Canyon Emigrant Wilderness

Post by Jcub »

I am planning a trip in mid-late June that will be starting out of Shingle Springs TH near Cherry Lake. First night will have my group camping at Kibbie Lake, from there we will x-country over to the Kibbie Ridge/Styx pass trail to end up either at Lords Meadow or Boundary lake for the second night.

I'm looking for advice from anyone, if anyone, who's come down from the Styx pass/Mercur Peak area into the Cherry Creek Canyon and successfully taken an exit further downstream, say around Lookout Point, or further? I expect some decent scrambling and path finding, but I've scoured the inter webs for a TR that's done this or similar and haven't come across one that specifically answers my question. Any advice greatly appreciated!
