Rachel and I met Sierra Gator for a hike up to Pyramid Peak. We were a few minutes late getting to the trailhead as we stopped to photo a few wildflowers along the way. The valley between Stovepipe and Furnace Creek is starting to bloom heavy.
The hike up to Pyramid was fun with perfect weather. It was slightly breezy on the summit. We took an alternate canyon down for variation. Saw many varieties of wildflowers including mohavia, gravel ghost, monkey flower and more. The canyons are just starting to bloom out but still offering some nice rewards. I would imagine in a couple more weeks it will even be better.

Re: Pyramid Peak
thanks to Duane and Norma -
the gravel ghost was easy - I took that in the visitor center parking lot - all the blooms of GG in the canyon were still a bit premie; Mohavia plants stil small in the canyons but starting to wake up. Hoping the Panamints will come alive also in the next few weeks. Can't go wrong with posie pics
