A nice quiet place in the mountains...

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

A nice quiet place in the mountains...

If this is how it's going to be, I don't want to visit:

I think I am going to stay off the beaten track this summer. I doubt Mondays are going to be much better.

Thoughts?

I went for a day hike to Gem Lake on Sunday. The trailhead parking and the overflow was full. It is just a gravel pad with no parking spaces delineated. Every car was parked 4-5 feet apart. If everyone had parked closer like a normal parking lot, another 10 cars could have fit.
