Winter Storm Watch Issued For High Elevations Of Sierra Nevada

Sacramento, Ca -- The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the upper elevations of the Sierra Nevada.
Periods of heavy snow are possible Thursday night and into Friday morning. Snow levels are projected to initiate at 6000 ft., and fall to as low as 4,500 ft. by Friday morning.
The storm is expected to move out of the area by Friday evening. The National Weather Service says 6 to 12 inches of snow are possible at pass levels, and expect rain at the lower elevations.
