Tomcat, Thanks for the explanation, your meet-up message on the trail didn't register I'm afraid, although I did pause at Pothole for a quick photo. By the time I left Gilbert I was probably following from the front. I did go up the pictured saddle , and the view from the top of the saddle was as per your photo.
my route..blue and red are the ascent, that other color is the descent,
blue = x3.

Got some of my pics up. Don't know how to add captions under the thumbnails, so the captions are at the bottom when you expand the thumbs.
Does that make sense? :retard:

Did anyone notice? look at the photo of the transcribed first ascent signature by Norman Clyde, (see Snow N's pics)the following sigs have the same handwriting as Virgil D Sisson, with a signature by Wedberg below that (Kurts dad) here is a pic of the two together, scroll down to Sisson, hes in the red with Wedberg on the right. I guess virgil removed the register to safe keeping with the Sierra Club around 1952. Just a guess

Actually the loop of the e in Wedberg matches all the e's above, except for the sig from Mcseein squeezed bet Sisson and
wedberg.

Fun captions, Trekker!
Ridgeline, I e-mailed Kurt Wedberg about that transcript. Pretty cool link!
Kerstin, we missed you and Anita! Next time!

Well, I'm a little behind in posting.... I got back to Washington Tuesday evening, and have been trying to catch up since then.
I had SOOOO much fun on the HST trip! I totally enjoyed meeting so many of you - what a great group of people!! The majority of my pictures are of the group...I wanted to be sure to get pictures of everyone so that I could remember faces. A few of them:

After leaving the HST weekend I sepnt a couple more weeks with my family, one more wedding cake to make, and then ended my trip with a three-day cruise to Encinata with my Mom and some of my brothers and sisters. I had a great time.
Thanks Cori, and everyone, for making it such a great HST weekend!!!
Rosie
P.S. here's the second wedding cake:
