Re: Climate Change in California Article
It is interesting that my master's thesis in 1996 (my middle-age crisis project was to go back to school) was part of a large project to project the adequacy of Utah's water storage and delivery systems with the larger variations hypothesized with climate change. At that time the climate models were not nearly as good or detailed as they are now. This "whiplash" effect has been a known problem of climate change for a LONG time, and only now getting the attention it should have received years ago.
The article appeared in the Sacramento Bee this morning.

Bump.
Shrinking glaciers, bigger fires and hotter nights: How climate change is altering California
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-m ... story.html
This article has good pictures and charts of glaciers in the Sierra Nevada and how much they've shrunk the last 100 years. It also has a link to the Cal EPA and OEHHA report.
Thoughts?

Very troubling indeed. I hope we are not doomed for my kids' sake...and their kids.

Not doomed, but might have to pack up and move a bit. Maybe the next Yosemite will be in the Arrigetch of Alaska or down in Antarctica.
The biggest problem is that people are no longer nomadic, that's gonna make this accelerated climate change a big bummer.
