FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY, MAMMOTH AND MONO COUNTY

EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER

MONDAY, 23-FEB-09, 7:16 AM

A STORM SYSTEM PUSHING THROUGH THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST WILL DRAW MOISTURE THROUGH CENTRAL AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, GIVING OUR AREA LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN SHOWERS AND THE UPPER ELEVATIONS A GOOD SHOT OF SNOW. SNOW LEVELS REMAIN QUITE HIGH IN THE 7,500 TO 8,000 FOOT RANGE. AS OF THIS MORNING, MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN HAS PICKED UP 19 INCHES OF NEW SNOW SINCE SUNDAY. A FEW WEAK DISTRUBANCES WILL KEEP THINGS UNSETTLED THROUGH THE WORK WEEK WITH A BREAK OR TWO IN BETWEEN.

AIR QUALITY TODAY IN THE OWENS VALLEY IS GOOD WITH 13.66 UG/M3 OF PM-10.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

TODAY: MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES BECOMING PARLTY CLOUDY WITH A 40% CHANCE OF RAIN. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. WINDS SE INCREASING TO 10- 15 MPH G 22.
TONIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S. WINDS NW 6 MPH.
TUESDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 60S. WINDS S 6 - 9 MPH.
