WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

BROADCASTING ON THE SIERRAWAVE 92.5 / 96.5 FM

LAST UPDATE: 7:56 AM PDT SEP 11, 2007

DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TODAY AND WEDNESDAY IN THE VALLEYS WITH SOME INSTABILITY ALONG THE SIERRA CREST TODAY, LEADING TO A VERY SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 90S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 50 - 57. LIGHT WIND BECOMING SOUTHWEST TO 10 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLEAR. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 90S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 51 - 58. LIGHT WIND BECOMING SOUTH TO 10 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TODAY FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: MOSTLY SUNNY BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 74 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 80S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 38 - 48. WEST WIND 10 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 75 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE MID 80S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 39 - 49. WEST WIND 10 - 15 MPH.

ON THURSDAY AN UPPER LEVEL LOW MOVES ON SHORE OFF THE WEST COAST AND THIS WILL INCREASE WINDS AND COOL THINGS DOWN BY AS MUCH AS 5 -7 DEGREES IN OUR AREA. THAT LOW WILL REMAIN ALONG THE WEST COAST KEEPING TEMPERATURES DOWN FOR BOTH THE VALLEYS AND HIGH COUNTRY. A DRIER SOUTHWEST FLOW WILL EVOLVE LOWERING THE CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE UPPER ELEVATIONS OVER THE WEEKEND. THE OWENS VALLEY WILL SEE A CONTINUATION OF MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES THROUGH SUNDAY.
