WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

EASTERN SIERRA WEATHER FORECASTER
BROADCASTING ON THE SIERRAWAVE 92.5 / 96.5 FM

LAST UPDATE: 7:56 AM PDT SEP 10, 2007

CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN DRY THROUGH AT LEAST THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS A STRONG RIDGE IN THE EASTERN PACIFIC CONTINUES TO DOMINATE OUR WEATHER. ON TUESDAY THE RIDGE WILL BUILD IN EVEN STRONGER ELEVATING OUR TEMPERATURES HERE JUST A BIT. SMOKE FROM MOONLIGHT FIRE SHOULD FILTER INTO OUR AREA CREATING HAZY CONDITIONS AT TIMES.

TODAY FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW 90S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 50 - 59. LIGHT WIND.

TOMORROW FOR BISHOP AND THE OWENS VALLEY: MOSTLY CLEAR. HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER 90S. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 51 - 61. LIGHT WIND.

TODAY FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 71 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 80S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 40 - 50. SOUTHWEST WIND 5 MPH.

TOMORROW FOR THE MAMMOTH AREA: SUNNY SKIES. HIGH TEMPERATURES AROUND 72 FOR THE MAIN LODGE AND THE LOW 80S FOR THE MONO VALLEYS. LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE 41 - 51. WEST WIND 5 - 10 MPH.

CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO BE DRY INTO WEDNESDAY WITH A GRADUAL WARMING TREND THEN ON THURSDAY AN UPPER LOW APPROACHES THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST AND IT WILL BEGIN TO EFFECT OUR WEATHER WITH A NICE COOL DOWN OF A FEW DEGREES AND THE POSSIBILITY OF THUNDERSTORM ACTION AND SHOWERS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY THROUGH SUNDAY. THE OWENS VALLEY WILL ALSO SEE A SLIGHT COOL DOWN WITH DRY CONDITIONS AND A FEW CLOUDS FLOATING OVER THE CREST THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
