WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE OWENS VALLEY AND MAMMOTH AREA

LAST UPDATE: 9:11 AM PDT AUG 16, 2007


LARGE SCALE UPPER LOW OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST COAST IS KEEPING THE RIDGE OVER THE SOUTHWEST IN PLACE AND IS HELPING TO MODERATE TEMPERATURES SOMEWHAT. TEMPS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AT OF SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL TODAY AND TOMORROW WITH DRY CONDITIONS. SMOKE FROM THE FIRES IN WESTERN CALIFORNIA WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT VISIBILITY AND AIR QUALITY. ELEVATED PM10 AND PM2.5 LEVELS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TOMORROW IN THE OWENS VALLEY. WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE IF THE GREAT BASIN UNIFIED AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT ISSUES A WARNING OR NOT.
