Mt Cotter and King Spur

Post by trav867 »

Hey- I'm planning to head out next Friday for a long weekend over Kearsarge Pass to do some exploring around the King Spur. I'm looking at Mt. Cotter as a doable target- can anyone tell me if there are any other fun, class 2-3 peaks in the area?
Thanks in advance

Mt. Gould is easy from Kearsarge Pass. The only difficulty is figuring out which of the small rock towers at the top is the summit (I never did, since I didn't find the summit register on any of them). University is on the south side and a lot more involved -- maybe out of your way a bit. People love to climb Dragon Peak (I've never done it).

Thanks- has anyone done the Gould-Rixford traverse? How about Gould-Rixford-Dragon Peak?
