Re: It's never too early to get your campfire permit...
Thanks Dave. Since I work out of town, the last couple years I have gone down to the Ranger Station here in CC and picked up my permit in Jan. or Feb. They always tell me I don't need one yet, I keep telling them, I want to get one while I am thinking of it. I forgot, I need to go down and get one, I have a snow camp trip to Butte Lake in a month. Might need to torch my snowmobile somewhere along the way.
How is the snow up there, down to 3' in Meadow Valley at my place.

About the same. Maybe a bit more. This last weekend sure lowered the snowpack in my yard.hikerduane wrote: ...How is the snow up there, down to 3' in Meadow Valley at my place.
The south facing slopes on the east side have bare dirt in places, but the protected spots on the north slopes are still plenty deep. I am not ready for Spring yet. A couple more winter storms to make sure the creeks and lakes stay full and the meadows green all summer.

Me either. More snow, please! However, we are on average just above the 100% mark for April 1. So I'm not going to be too upset if what we have...is what we'll have. Sure beats last season...
