Yeah, that's the same as the one I had just posted:SSSdave wrote:http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/index.ht ... rra_Nevada
The problem was that there was a couple feet of snow, whereas NOHRSC predicted no snow. And the terrain on the way to Johnson Lake is the same as at the Johnson Lake station. I've had good estimates from NOHRSC, but what good is it (for backpackers) if it's so unreliable?Sierra Miguel wrote:Here's some pretty pictures too: http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/interactive/html/map.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They didn't help.
Sounds good. Haven't tried that yet.SSSdave wrote:the NWS 1km visible satellite maps
This appears to be another presentation of the NOHRSC/NOAA data.tomba wrote:See viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3791#p68348" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in a sticky thread in "Conditions Reports and Information" section for snow depth map.
You (J ney) haven't mentioned going past Vernon, but in case you're thinking of that, most of Jack Main Canyon is probably knee-deep in water around now and Falls will be dangerous to cross. See http://yosemitenews.info/forum/read.php?3,66444,66484" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for last year.
I do find the CDEC river flow plots useful for that, e.g.: http://cdec.water.ca.gov/jspplot/jspPlo ... ies=cdec01" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
