Driving time from San Jose to Bear Creek Diversion Dam

Hey All-
Headed for a trip out of Bear Creek Diversion Dam and was wondering what the approx drive time is from San Jose area. Also does anyone know what the road conditions are to the Diversion dam after the turn off. I've got a Subaru Outback...I recall it wasn't that bad, but that was 15 years ago

It's been a couple of years for me too, but I recall the trip being 6-ish hrs from San Francisco to the turnoff to the dam, just to give you a rough idea. And as of a couple years ago the vehicles I saw out by the dam surprised me. Personally with the rocks in the road I'd prefer a higher clearance vehicle, but considering the others I've seen out there you can probably make it.
