Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the
HST rules and guidelines ) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

For all we know it is full of packing peanuts! But "ouch" not the most comfortable suspension system! I will gladly be a "pansie" any day!

Funny, this must be an earlier Kelty model...color is cardboard brown not smurf blue...looks like the same suspension though.
BTW, I hear Russ here still carries that same beast regularly. I can hear the ol' Sherpa squeak now.

That dude must have really drawn the short straw..."okay sherpa-Fred, you bring the refridgerator to base camp today".
Before I looked in this thread I was really expecting to see another series of flower photos....

Don't get too excited. That's not a fridge. That's the test version of the new bear canister yet to be approved in the Sierra that we'll all be required to carry.
I hear it's Yeti-proof. I think my external frame will carry it well.

Looks to me like a possible solution to the earlier bear box debate; simply pack your own.

You are all laughing now, but when he reaches the top and pulls out an ice-cold beer you will all be jealous.

I don't think so. If you look closely, you'll notice that the guy behind him unplugged the 100-km extension cord. Won't *he* be pissed at the top!!
