We're planning a backpacking trip from Red Meadows to Vermilion Valley in mid July, I'd like to have my car at the end of the trip (Vermilion Resort), my problem is how do we get to the starting point at Red Meadows? There will be 4 of us (maybe 6).

Seems to me the Loma Prieta chapter of the Sierra Club used to have an annual "Kearsarge Coffe Klatsch," where they started one group at Onion Valley and the other at Cedar Grove and swapped keys in the middle somewhere.
