McGee Pass Snow levels

Post by MonoSlim »

I plan on using McGee Pass this summer around mid July. Just wondering what snow has been like in past years around that time and what time it usually clears up fully.

Copernicus Browser is your friend.

Find McGee pass (ideally by searching the latitude & longitude) and then check various years. 2023 will be the latest, 2015 will be the earliest. Somewhere between them.

Also, McGee pass is on a south facing aspect almost the whole trail. It is likely to melt out very early.

Crossing McGee creek (or bushwhacking around that crossing) is going to be your biggest obstacle.
