Wiggly animals in water

In July of last year, we were at the West Fork of Cherry Creek. The rocks underwater were slippery. I thought that was due to algae. Then we noticed that some wiggly animals were stuck to the body parts that had touched the rocks. Leeches? Yikes! A closer look at the rocky creek bottom revealed many small wiggly animals, a few millimeters long.
