If you've been searching for the best source of information and stimulating discussion related to Spring/Summer/Fall backpacking, hiking and camping in the Sierra Nevada...look no further!
I'll be passing through granite park in early July. I tried searching the board for information on the two big lakes at the west end of granite park but had no luck. Has anyone visited and has information on the the two lakes I highlighted in the photo below? To be more specific, is it worth stopping by to throw out a line?
Edit: I'm not sure why the link isn't working after following the instructions ...
to embed an image from Flickr, you need to do from a “full” version of the app (e.g. on a desktop, laptop or tablet device), not the “mobile” version of Flickr
AND
you need to grab the “BB-code” formatted version of the URL, not the “generic” URL format.

A view from near the lower of the two lakes in your square, about 11700. I don't fish so can't comment on that. Frankly, I found Granite Park more beautiful a bit lower down, in the 11000 to 11400 vicinity. I also loved Chalfant lakes. But that may just be me.
I sent Bearzy out with a crude fishing pole to see if he could snag something, but he got nothing. [Bear uses a stick with 10 hooks dangling from either end, which I believe is legal-ish?]
Definitely camp down by kpeters photo. Camping at the two lakes you are interested in is marginal at best. Easy 15-minute walk up to the lakes to fish.

Your lake is in the valley just off the photo to the right.
