California names a mountain after Marine from El Dorado who died in combat

Sky Point, a roughly 11,240-foot Sierra Nevada peak in the John Muir Wilderness, honors [Sky] Mote, who died while serving as an explosive ordinance disposal technician with the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion.
And from the bill's text:
https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-con ... l/381/text
A presently unnamed peak in the center of Humphrey Basin holds special meaning to the friends and family of Sky Mote, as their annual hunting trips set up camp beneath this point; under the stars, the memories made beneath this rounded peak will be cherished forever.
The mountain in the John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra National Forest in California, located at 37°15′16.10091″N 118°43′39.54102″W, shall be known and designated as "Sky Point."
Google Maps puts that on a little bump south of Tomahawk Lake. The elevation checks out. I was looking through some photos, I think I have some pictures of it. It's not that remarkable. Am I looking at the right spot?
And hunting is (or was) allowed in the John Muir Wilderness?
(Feel free to move this if I posted in the wrong place- thanks)

Re: New Mountain in the Sierra: Sky Point
Interesting. In https://geonames.usgs.gov/docs/DNC_PPP_ ... _V.1.0.pdf:
Sec. 1 The BGN will not approve proposed names for unnamed features within wilderness areas, including unpublished names in local use, unless an overriding need can be demonstrated by the proponent.

Try this. This is Pilot Knob from above Upper Golden Trout Lake. If Sky Point is where you say it is, it should be one of those granite ridges just in front of Pilot Knob from this viewpoint:

Yes, hunting is allowed in Wilderness Areas. Congressional legislation overrides BGN policy.

Sky Point on topo:

Sky Point at frame right edge from across Tomahawk Lake with Glacier Divide in background.

I climbed up on that minor ridge above the lake in order to view areas of Glacier Divide on the other side of the Piute Creek canyon. On hike in from Packsaddle Lake went through the saddle just east in order to drop down to the southeast corner of Tomahawk Lake I camped at 3 nights.
