I would say your best bet is somewhere high. Is Rock Creek bone dry? I have not been to Mono County since Mid Dec but there has been storms. What about the Mammoth Lakes Basin? Hwy 120/Tioga? You should find luck in any of those 3 but I haven't put eyeballs on those areas in awhile so I cannot say definitively.

Just got back from Mammoth area. snow was thin. Zero snow coverage Rock Creek Sno Park and significantly beyond. Lake Mary had enough coverage, but thin. Lake Mary was crowded, but no tracks and complete solitude off trail to Mammoth pass. A few tracks at Emerald Lakes trail head, but complete solitude as well. 1' to 1.5' of snow above Lake Mary off trail.

Davela,
How far are you willing to travel? The Sno Parks on Hwy 88 near Kirkwood looked to have good coverage this weekend and there were plenty of people snow shoeing and XC skiing. I think the XC Trails at Kirkwood are also open but I suggest you call them before you take the drive.

Just got back from the Pear Lake Ski hut. Snow is melting quick below 9200 but it was still decent around the lakes. With the incoming "storm", there may be a few days of good snow before the ridge builds up again.
Has anyone been around Glacier Lodge rd? Was thinking of going up to Big Pines next week and hoping the road is relatively clear

This report varies pretty differently from the reported 214 inches at Mammoth Pass at the link aboveoverheadx2 wrote:Just got back from Mammoth area. snow was thin.
