Starting planning for the long July 4th weekend and trying to narrow down potential areas based on expected weather conditions. I'm interested in an east side trailhead since I can't drive that far on a normal weekend. I'd normally also aim for fairly high elevation in southern Sierra's, but am assuming snow will be a problem.
I'm curious what elevations or general areas people would suggest for a relatively dry and bug free trip over the July 4 weekend given the 2017 snow pack? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
